Just hours after viewers called for her to be sacked over “racist” comments made on Wednesday, it’s been claimed that producers will not let the judge use the show as a platform to relaunch her music career.
It’s been reported that she was hoping to sing her new single Stop during the live final this Saturday.
However, she’s allegedly been given a polite no by Simon Cowell, forcing her to resort to promoting the track at a series of low-profile gigs instead.
The claims will come as another blow to the judge after viewers accused her of being racist
“Alesha is disappointed but appreciates she can’t complain too loudly,” a source told The Sun. “She knows how fortunate she is being on a show of BGT’s size so would never want to put that at risk.”
The claims will come as another blow to Alesha who was called racist after describing the band Vox Fortura as “Four sexy chocolate men”.
Alesha described Vox Fortura as ‘four sexy chocolate men’
She told them: “[You have] amazing voices, polished to perfection, that was sensational well done.”
While her comments may have been very complimentary, plenty of viewers took to Twitter to slam her choice of wording.
One wrote: “Can Alesha get away with saying what she said about @Vox_Fortura? Had it been any of the other judges, they’d be called racist #BGT.”
Simon Cowell reportedly isn’t interested in Alesha performing on BGT
Another posted on the site: “How is it ok for Alesha to say ‘Chocolate men’? Isn’t that racist in every way possible? Disgusting. #BGT.”
The Britain’s Got Talent live final is on ITV, Saturday at 7.30pm.
