Alessandro Michele’s reinvigorated Gucci label took to London’s Westminster Abbey to showcase its Cruise 2017 collection. A full 96 looks (ninety six!) were unleashed under the cathedral’s stained glass, injected as they were with Michele’s mad, whimsical vision. There was bleach-splattered denim (a forthcoming trend, perhaps?), lavish florals, punchy graphics and buckets of embroidery, studs and sequins.
All of this was thrown together in typical Michele recklessness, as grunge, prep, luxury and glamor all collided in one mad, glorious ensemble.
Speaking of Gucci, remember when Maurizio Gucci was taken out in a gangland shooting?
