Silas Blissett has proved his serial-killing credentials once again by offing Lindsey Butterfield in a shocking episode of Hollyoaks .
Psycho Silas – who’s collected victims up and down the teen soap’s village – was set on killing his nemesis Mercedes McQueen, when she managed to talk him out of killing her, and instead taking on his fellow murderer, Gloved Hand Killer Lindsey.
The pregnant doctor went on the run after being discovered as the infamous serial-killer offing countless victims in the hospital, but after being saved from police capture by Silas, he turned his attentions to Lindsay in Tuesday night’s E4 episode of the soap.
As Mercedes was upstairs caring for Lindsay’s baby, Silas made his move and, despite her pleading for her life, he left Lindsey dead on the sofa that Lynsey Nolan was found dead on in 2013.
Actress Sophie Austin insisted that it was the only way the murdering doctor could leave the soap after all she had done.
“When the decision was made about me going, I always had it in my head that it was the only exit that she could have,” she told Digital Spy .
“It was quite a weird feeling when I found out that would be Lindsey’s exit, because obviously you would always want the door to be left open for your character and it’s nice to be able to return one day.
“But I think for the actual story and the character, it was the most explosive exit I could have asked for. When you do lose a great job like that, you want to go out with a bang.
“I felt privileged to have such a great exit.”
