While the split appears to be amicable and there’s no sign of a bitter single on the horizon, we’ve noticed that Tay Tay has changed her style dramatically in the past 15 months.
Since confirming her romance with the Scottish DJ last March, the American singer has swapped her girl-next-door looks for an edgier, grungier style.
Taylor appears to have ditched her printed skater dresses and teeny handbags for leather trousers, plunging necklines and metallics. And she even seems to have swapped her signature red lippie for this season’s browns and nudes.
Here we look back on some of her best looks and her style evolution.
All white at the Billboard Music Awards 2015
Taylor and Calvin packed on the PDAs last May at the Billboard Music Awards, after posting subtle hints about their blossoming romance on Instagram.
And with her new beau on her arm, Taylor ditched her fairytale gowns for this plunging Balmain jumpsuit, showing off her toned figure and unusually, her cleavage, sparking the first hints of a style overhaul.
Taylor in her signature cutesy co-ords
Remember when Taylor always wore a crop top co-ords? Old habits die hard, when the power couple were spotted heading out on a date night.
While she appears to be leaning more towards designer brands these days for the red carpet, the Shake It Off singer likes to mix it up with high street, in this aqua Bloomingdales ensemble.
This Rachel Zoe playsuit was a sell-out
We want to know where Taylor’s put all of her lust-worthy arm candy? Leaving her apartment in New York last May, she struck her signature pose in this cute white Rachel Zoe playsuit.
While she’s no stranger to experimenting with her hair (remember her long curly tresses?) she rocked this enviable WOB for a couple of years before reaching for the bleach.
Taylor toughens things up in dungarees and chunky boots
Jumping on the 90s trend in pair of dungarees and a Topshop crop top, was this the first hint of an edgier look to come from Taylor? We all rushed out to copy her…
Gone are the princess dresses for the MTV VMAs
We used to be able to predict what Taylor would rock up to an awards show in, but she completely threw us with this sequin co-ord top and sweatpants, by London-based designer Ashish.
While her outfit divided opinion at the MTV VMAs , one thing’s for sure, Taylor was embracing her Bad Blood alter-ego Catastrophe, with her slick updo and lashings of eyeliner.
Showing off her new shorter do at the Grammys 2016
New year, new do. Having wrapped up her 1989 tour in December, Taylor showed off her shorter locks, at the Grammy Awards in February.
The blunt cut was a change from her usual wavy bob and many compared it to Vogue editor Anna Wintour . But we all like a change every now and again and she pulled off colour blocking, with her bright Versace bandeau and thigh split skirt.
Breaking the legs and cleavage rule at the Vanity Fair party
Showing off those pins again, Taylor showed off a sexier look for the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Wearing a plunging gown by French haute-couture designer Alexandre Vauthier, black has now become a wardrobe staple for the singer.
Showing off her enviable figure in a YSL jumpsuit
Taylor slayed everyone at the iHeart Radio Music Awards in a skin-tight sequined jumpsuit by YSL. In her head-to-toe black ensemble, chunky Giuseppe Zanotti boots and sporting messy waves, she wouldn’t have looked out of place fronting an all-girl punk band.
Taylor Swift shows off her blonde look for Coachella 16
Just when we thought we’d gotten used to her shorter do, Taylor decided to switch it up AGAIN. Captioning this Instagram pic ‘Bleachella,’ we thought that her new peroxide looks were just for her Vogue magazine cover shoot .
Taylor’s been experimenting with more dramatic make-up
Goodbye signature lippie! After sporting a number of distinctively grungy looks at Coachella festival, Taylor sparkled in this asymmetric Haney dress for BFF Gigi Hadid’s birthday .
But of course, she toughened up the look with a pair of chunky Vetements platform boots and vampy blood-red lippy.
Sporting a gothic look for the Met Gala
Having all gotten used to Taylor’s new bleached bob, she went full-on goth for the Met Gala event , in a futuristic silver cut-out dress and criss cross sandals, all by Louis Vuitton.
While we weren’t completely bowled over by this look, she got everyone talking about her new goth girl style and made us wonder how she’d switch it up next.
Chokers have now become a signature look for Taylor
Calvin was noticeably absent at both the Met Gala and the BMI Awards but Taylor showed no signs that there was trouble brewing in paradise, with this on-trend look.
Sporting a choker (a rock chick essential, of course) and a crushed velvet Monique Lhullier gown, we’re glad she kept her make-up neutral on this occasion.
So as Taylor moves on to another chapter in her life, will we see change up her sound as well as her style?
