Idris Elba has proven that there really is no end to his talents.
The actor – famed for roles on The Wire and Luther – now features on what’s set to become the hottest track of the summer.
Working alongside Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Idris is responsible for the hook in new hip hop song Dance Off.
The track’s official music video has quickly made waves after it dropped on YouTube on Tuesday.
The tune is very catchy
In less than 48 hours its racked up 741,000 viewers – seemingly indicating that chart success will be just around the corner.
The video begins with a Thriller-like rift as the dad-of-two drops some rockin’ lyrics wearing a black and white fur coat.
Thousands have already watched the video
He sings: “I challenge you to a dance off/ Hands off, no trash talk, no back walk.”
Idris – still wearing his Cruella Deville-esque coat – then starts playing a feather-laden organ.
The video is all very cool, with a boat load of dance routines and a catchy tune.
There’s plenty of dancing on the go
During his career Idris has become best known for his acting – having previously been nominated at the Emmys and Golden Globes.
However the 43-year-old has made no secret about wanting to pursue a music career.
Idris has many different talents
Last year Idris revealed that even though his attempts to break into the industry hadn’t been majorly successful, he had no intentions of giving up.
He told The Guardian : “As an actor, all day long I’m reading someone else’s thoughts. What about my own thoughts?
“That comes out in various guises. Writing. Directing. And music, unfortunately.”
The track could be his biggest yet
He also confessed that he’s a big fan of grime.
Idris explained: “To me grime is the purest form of hip hop in the world at the moment because it comes from a place of: ‘We are who we are and we aspire to be this’.”
