During an interview on Good Morning Britain , Ben Shephard asked the aspiring star if he felt that he, Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc had a lot to live up to as they attempt to fill in the shoes of their predecessors.
Looking a little unimpressed with the question, the motoring fanatic snapped back “not really” before giving the presenter a cheeky grin.
Ben then tried to elaborate on his previous question, asking Rory again how he will measure up to Jeremy.

“There is no pressure on my part,” he confidently replied. “I’m a fan of Top Gear and I know what came before. But the process I’ve been through recently has shown me that it will be different but it will live up to the expectations of the fans.
“We’ve worked so hard to try and maintain that essence of Top Gear and that element of fun. We are confident that we are going to deliver a show that is hugely inclusive.
“I’m not nervous at all. I’ll be absolutely fine.”

Rory made the comments after arriving late for his live interview on the ITV breakfast show.
Ben jokingly asked the star if landing a part on Top Gear had turned him into a diva as the last person not to arrive on time for the programme was Mariah Carey.

To make sure that his guest never made the mistake again, Ben presented Rory with a new alarm clock live on air – which he seemed pretty grateful for.
