As part of British Vogue’s 100th anniversary editor Alexandra Shulman threw a star-studded birthday gala last night.
A heady mix of supermodels, stylists, designers, makeup artists, photographers and cover stars turned up to celebrate the magazine’s centenary, showcasing the very best of British fashion.
While cover star, the Duchess of Cambridge , was noticeably absent at the bash, there were still plenty of red carpet winners.
From barely-there dresses (looking at you, Kim Kardashian) to prom-style get-ups, here are our verdicts on the stars’ looks.
Kate wowed us in her semi-sheer gown Buy this photo »
Never one to play it safe, supermodel Kate Moss , 42, showed off her fashion prowess, in a sheer black polka dot gown that was torn across the front and layered over a black body.
Kate has form when it comes to tearing dresses, remember the gold vintage Dior gown she wore to a fashion gala back in 2007? Kate tore the bottom of the gown and ended up cleverly customising it, to continue a long night of partying.
Last night’s torn look however was deliberate and the gown was from Alexander McQueen’s AW16 Pre-collection. We love the way Kate belted the look and added a pair of dazzling emerald drop earrings. Kate at her rock n roll best.
Alexa is the belle of the ball
Style queen Alexa Chung , 32, turned prom queen for the night in this gorgeous gold strapless Prada dress. Alexa teamed the gown with a pair of black patterned polka dot tights – take note, these are going to be huge for AW16.
A pretty embellished look from Helen
We love 47-year-old British actress Helen McCrory ’s style and her one-shoulder embellished ivory gown last night didn’t disappoint. Complete with sheer ruffle shoulder detail, Helen was joined by her actor husband Damian Lewis.
Daisy kept her accessories simple with this playful dress
Model Daisy Lowe , 27, wore a pretty candy coloured 50-inspired dress by Brit designer Christopher Kane. Looking elegant and girlie, Daisy gets full marks for accessorising with simple ankle strap shoes and a colourful clutch.
Lara showed off a cheeky bit of under-boob
Dutch model Lara Stone , 32, showed off her fashion prowess in a full-length monochrome dress by Christopher Kane. Despite showing off some serious under-boob, thanks to the crop top effect and sheer panels, she still looked fashion forward.
Lily turned heads in this red gown
Brit model Lily Donaldson made a dramatic entrance in an intricate red Prada gown with an elaborate web overlay. Not an easy look, but the 29-year-old pulled it off with ease.
Splash Laura added a novelty clutch
Downton star Laura Carmichael, 29, showed off her style, in a Vivienne Westwood gown and a quirky Hillier Bartley rabbit clutch.
Kim’s never one to play it safe
Oh and look who did her infamous ‘dressed to look as undressed as possible’ look…
No one goes to more effort and spends more money dressing up in posh frocks to effectively look naked, than the high priestess of reality television Kim Kardashian . True to form, her see-through Roberto Cavalli gown, gave everyone an eyeful.
Cheryl showed off a vampy new look
Rocking a fierce look, but failing to be fashionable in a pair of black thigh high boots and an off-the-shoulder Bardot style dress. Not our favourite Cheryl look.
