Karl Lagerfeld has found himself quite a muse in the form of Kristen Stewart. The actress has been the face of several Chanel campaigns over the past years, including a series of short films. Their creative partnership shows no signs of slowing down, as not one but two new clips have been released for the house’s “Paris in Rome” 2015/16 Métier d’Art campaign.
Embodying the ideal of “less is more,” the two short films each run about 30 seconds and pack a minimal but effective concept. Stewart languidly strolls around a Paris apartment in lace tights, a crepe dress and tulle jacket while holding an update on the Chanel 2.55 calfskin bag.
She is soundtracked by the late Gil-Scott Heron, evoking the smooth but dangerous world of classic film noir. Her previous role for Chanel was as founder Coco herself, but these two clips show she’s more than capable of acting comfortable in her own skin.
